BALKAN HISTORY. ENDLESS NATURE. KAYAKING. SWIMMING. RAKIJA. SALAS. WINERIES. HIKING. CANYON SAFARI.

Day 1 – Welcome To Belgrade

Arrive in Belgrade latest by 2pm, get transferred to your hotel, check-in & relax. Meet with the group at 5pm, at Skadarska Street. This is the Bohemian quarter of Belgrade, located in the heart of the city. We make our way down to the Danube, where we hop on to our private cruise.
We set sail down the Danube, touring the Big and Small War Island and continue downstream where the rivers meet. Do you know that Belgrade is the only capital in the world that lies at the confluence of two large “navigable” rivers – Danube & Sava. As we pass under the bridges, we realize, Belgrade is truly a city on water.

Here we enjoy the sunset, along with some tunes, bond with one another, have dinner & drinks & get ready to embark on an unforgettable 6 days of excitement. (Dinner included) – Overnight in Belgrade – Hotel Marshal Garni or similar

Let the Serbian holiday begin!

Day 2 – Belgrade – Ovcar Kablar Gorge – Uzice

After breakfast, we begin the trip leisurely with a half day guided city tour. Feel the beating heart of Belgrade as you discover the highlights of the center of the city. You will visit some of most remarkable city highlights such as Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress, the Victor monument, we pass by New Belgrade, we cross the Gazela Bridge, we’ll head to the most prominent landmarks of Belgrade– The Church of St. Sava (also known as St. Sava Temple), one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, ending our trip in the heart of the capital, Republic Square.

After the trip’s conclusion, we will be famished (I know I’ll be ;)), so we head to a cute little Serbian restaurant for lunch & Rakija Tasting. Rakija is the traditional official drink of Serbia.

Post lunch, we head to Western Serbia. On our way we stop at Ovcar Kablar Gorge, a magical panoramic viewpoint overlooking the unspoiled & beautiful meanders of the West Morava Rivers. We arrive in a small city called Uzice. You have rest of the evening to yourself. Tomorrow is a fun day. (Breakfast & Lunch included) – Overnight at Uzice – Hotel Siesta or similar.

Day 3 – Kayaking Down The Drina Valley

After that hearty breakfast, it’s time to check out again & prepare to soak up some history at Kadinjaca monumental complex. Be taken back in history and experience some of the revolutionary turmoil that shaped the Balkans.

From there we head out to immerse ourselves in nature today. Arrive at the shortest river in Europe – Vrelo. Following an easy & short hike Next stop is at nearby Lake Perucac. Be prepared to swim in these shimmering emerald waters.

After having a short swim and quick bite, we start the kayaking tour down the Drina River towards the famous house on Drina. We kayak here for about 2-3, feeling one with nature. Finishing off our day feeling fulfilled, we drive to to Mokra Gora and check into our hotel for the next 2 nights. (Breakfast) – Overnight at Mokra Gora – Caroni Breg or similar

Day 4 – Uvac Safari Tour

Ride through Zlatar, one of the most beautiful mountains in Serbia, which is part of the Stari Vlah group of Dinaric Alps. Following the safari ride we start our hiking along ridge over the spectacular meanders of Uvac. On the way back from the tour we’ll take a swimming break & have a quick bite on Zlatarsko Lake. Relax in nature and allow the breathtaking scenery to calm mind and body.

Once we’re back to the Zlatibor city, you have the evening free. If you have some more energy and time, then might I suggest you take the cable up to the Tornik Mountain. Alternatively, relax, rejuvenate and lets meet up for dinner & drinks later in the evening. (Breakfast, Dinner) – Overnight at Mokra Gora – Caroni Breg or similar

Day 5 – Mokra Gora & Sargan 8

Today we check out from our hotel in Mokra Gora. After breakfast, you have the option to either have the morning to yourself and relax or hop on to the most scenic train ride in Serbia. The Sargan 8 train begins at Šargan Vitasi station. The train rides to Mokra Gora train station around an hour and half with 5 – 10 minute stops at stations for photographic opportunities.

The final stop is a visit to Drvengrad ethno village, also known as the Wooden Village. No matter what option you’ve chosen, we’ll pick you & drive to the city of Novi Sad, check in to our hotel. You have the rest of the evening to relax and walk around on the Liberty square, Danube streets etc. (Breakfast) – Overnight at Novi Sad – Kombinat Rooms City Center or similar

Day 6 – Food & Wine

No trip to Serbia is complete without tasting its delicious wines & authentic Serbian Cuisine. We begin our tour with visits to 2 wineries where, we taste 6-8 different wines served with cheese & fresh apples. Next stop, Lake Palic. You stroll through one of the most serene parks of Serbia and relax at this lake. We carry on to a fairy-tale like city, Subotica, which is well known for its Austro-Hungarian architecture.

Lastly, we end our trip in Salas. Salaš are the soul of Vojvodina. These are traditional authentic Serbian restaurants. If we are lucky, we could also catch some live folk music along with the mouth-watering cuisine. (Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner) – Overnight at Novi Sad – Kombinat Rooms City Center or similar

Day 7 – Novi Sad – Belgrade

I hope you’ve had a ball of a time on this jam packed, super active group trip to Serbia.
All good things come to an end, so after our last few hours of exploring Novi Sad either on a guided tour or on your own, we head back to Belgrade. The time has come to say goodbye to the amazing friends you made and head off to your next adventure. (Breakfast)

If you’ve got a later flight, check out Zemun or the legendary nightlife of Belgrade or catch a train to Montenegro etc. —there should be more than a few attractions to keep you busy. We’ll see you next time.

You Should Know

Weather – Expect the temperatures to range between 10-20 degrees centigrade. However, western Serbia is a lot cooler. So pack accordingly.
Sunrise/Sunset – 6:30 am – 6:20pm approximately

Currency – Official currency is Serbian Dinar. However, carry Euros to exchange in Belgrade city center

Belgrade is more than 7000 years old, proving it is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade is one of the largest Orthodox temples in the world! Apart from Russia, Serbia is the largest producer of raspberries in the world. On around 15,000 hectares, Serbia produces about a third of all the raspberries produced in the world. Drinking coffee is a centuries-old tradition in Serbia, so you mustn’t miss home-made coffee accompanied by baklava. A plum is considered a national fruit in Serbia, out of which a well-known rakia – is brewed. You mustn’t leave Serbia without having at least one glass of it.
